Importing Data from Rock RMS to Church Analytics

Purpose of Connecting with Rock RMS

Using Church Analytics, you can keep a near-real-time view of generosity reports at arm’s reach. Our system is designed to connect directly to your Rock RMS database. Set it up once, and we’ll take care of regular data sync between the two systems.

Once you have everything needed, this process normally takes about 10 minutes. You only have to do it once.

What You Need

  • Rock RMS must be updated to version 8.6
  • Your Rock RMS domain
    • i.e. rock.rocksolidchurchdemo.com
  • A Rock RMS account (username and password)
    • You either need to be a System Administrator for your church or have permissions to assign APIs to Security Roles
  • A Church Analytics account (username and password)

Connecting Rock RMS to Church Analytics

  1. In your Rock RMS environment create an API key with Admin Permissions that will allow you to connect to Church Analytics
    • Create a Rock RMS API key by navigating to Admin Tools > Security > REST Keys

    • Enter a name and description then click the Generate Key button
    • We suggest you use a name like “Church Analytics”, “Generis User”, or “Gloo User” so that it’s easily recognizable to anyone in your organization who will be using the platform
    • This will create an API key to be used later. It will look similar to this: WAaraUDMlXTn0NWmPcNjZZ4o (copy it now!)
  2. Navigate to Admin Tools > Security > Security Roles
    • The credentials you assign here will be used to enable Church Analytics to connect to your Rock church and donor data
  3. Scroll down the list until you find "RSR - Rock Administration" and click that list item
